Sunday Setlist – Easter 2010 – He’s Risen, Hallelujah!
Easter Sunday was incredible! Here’s how it went:
The morning started off with our choir, led by Jerry Hampton, singing an energetic song of celebration- He’s Risen, Hallelujah!
Then, we dropped the lights and started this video from Worship House Media. The church applauded when it was over! What a great group of people, so enthusiastic and thankful for their salvation!!
My Savior Lives (New Life Worship- click here for youtube video) - this was great, and was new to our church. High energy, and lots of fun, with perfect, Eastery lyrics!! Wayne led this one, and sang the Ross part like nobody’s business!!
On the bridge (“my Savior lives” 4x), he sang the first line alone, then all unison on the second, then we added alto part in for the third, then on the last line, I added a higher harmony for some 3-part goodness! Then strong into the chorus again, drums only, then all band for the last time through. Great song; looking forward to doing it again this next Sunday for pre-service.
Greeting
Scripture/Prayer
Choir Song- You Thought Of Us (Kyle Matthews) What a beautiful song about the love of Jesus. This was really touching, to the church, as well as those who sang and played it.
Ok, here’s where it got GOOD. As if we didn’t already have the service crammed with powerful stuff, we had to add this medley!!
Worthy is the Lamb (Hillsong) Thank you for the cross, Lord. A prayer of thankfulness for what Christ did for us. I wanted to do something different with this song, though. We’ve sung it before, and it’s powerful all on its own. But this was Easter Sunday, and it had to explode with energy and edge-of-your-seat intensity!!
So at the end of WITL, after the “Thou art worthy….Thou art worthy.. (at 4:41 in this video), keeping volume and energy UP, the band then went right into the incredible interlude of Gateway’s extended version of Revelation Song (at 4:44 in this video) , and using that interlude as the intro, we started into the chorus, Holy Holy Holy, is the Lord God Almighty…!!! Can you hear it??? It was freaking AMAZING!!! After the chorus, we sang the third verse only – Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder, at the mention of Your Name…then into that soft interlude, then back into the verse, building with each phrase…Jesus, Your Name is power, breath and living water, such a marvelous mystery! This verse was done exactly as Gateway does it in the video. Then back into the strong interlude, then chorus- drums only- then chorus again, full band, to end. If you haven’t heard this extended version of Jennie Lee Riddle’s Revelation Song, take a minute to watch it…it’s phenomenal.
Then, a wonderful message by Pastor Larry Dotson
Then, for invitation, I sang Lead Me To the Cross , with Jason on piano and Wayne on djembe. Nice and simple. This is one of my favorite worship songs right now.
Then, for offertory, Jason played a beautifully arranged medley of When I Survey The Wondrous Cross, Beneath The Cross of Jesus, and The Old Rugged Cross. Such a talented pianist and composer; we are so blessed to be able to work with him in this ministry.
For the walk out song, we came back to the chorus of My Savior Lives, for a great ending to a wonderful day of music and message, filled with HOPE!

A most excellent #ss blog post! Nicely done, honey!
Thanks! Awesome day, wasn’t it? Now to do it all over again this Sunday!!
It really was! I can’t wait for this Sunday!! Serving the Lord with you is an honor, my love.
It’s an honor for me, as well. I never dreamed we’d be given this opportunity…but it goes to show that God truly is in the business of restoration!
Continue that passion in spreading God’s word Lean. Great choices of songs too. God bless!
