“Invitation” Song
…probably should have some kind of inviting words to it, yes?
We have, always and forever, sung an old HYMN here. It’s getting tired. Really. But that’s what we’ve always done…
I’m thinking in the direction of an instrumental invitation…so that the people don’t have to even think about singing…their whole focus would be on the Lord, and what He is doing in their hearts.
Or, what about me just singing the invitation hymn, or chorus, or whatever, alone? Nobody but me and the band. ?? Again, the church won’t have to think about what to sing. New people wouldn’t have to try and sing something they don’t know. People who are praying won’t have to be as distracted by people singing around them. We could do really cool invitational songs that nobody knows, because they wouldn’t be singing them anyway! ie: Come To Me (Kari Jobe)
So, Worship Leaders, Pastors, ministers, congregation,…what do YOU do in your church for the time of commitment/alter call/invitation?
